Mr. Kruger
Welcome, Perry Middle School is dedicated to the success of all students. We serve approximately 420 students in grades six through eight. It is our goal that every one of our students will achieve gains enabling them to master the middle school content while preparing them for high school.
Most importantly we want our students to have a safe environment where they can focus on learning. In order to maintain a safe environment, we have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment and fighting. The occurrence of any one of these will be dealt with promptly. We hope to teach our students lifelong skills such as handling peer pressure, good decision making, treating others with respect, and how to take responsibility for their own actions.
We have certain expectations of our students and staff. We are going to provide our students with highly qualified instructors. We will treat students with respect and fairness, and we are continual learners ourselves, striving to stay current with the most effective teaching strategies available. From our students, we expect them to come to school every day well rested, with an attitude that they are here to learn. With all of the support we have in place, all students will be successful if they want to learn.
The supports we currently offer at the middle school include: before and after school teacher tutorials, homework/success clubs, breakfast club, advisory period with remediation instruction, exploratory pull-out, math lab, reading lab, TAG, counselor assistance and after school transportation. We hope that with all of the additional support, every child will find success.
There are many exciting opportunities for our students wanting to be involved. We offer activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track, cheerleading, TSA, and cross country. Students can also participate in band, choir and student council, along with several clubs such as: Art, Yearbook, Computer Skills, Math, Architecture & Design, Crafts, P-Entertainment, and others.
Another exciting program in place this year is our school-wide literacy plan. Please check it out on our web-site. In addition to that, we have many positive incentives to encourage our students to be their best. We offer end of tri-mester awards, we have student of the month, Jay Feathers, student council activities, and numerous classroom incentives.
Please encourage your child to get involved as the middle school years provide an excellent opportunity for exploration as students mature. We encourage all parents to be involved in your child’s middle school career as well. Please visit the school, stop in for lunch, support our activities and let us know how we can help in working together with you towards the success of our students.
