Request for Perry School District Substitutes, Paraeducators and Bus Drivers Provides Opportunity to Help the School Community While Earning Wages
PERRY, IOWA (February 7, 2024) – Perry Community School District (PCSD) officials are requesting that any potential substitute teachers, paraeducators or bus drivers consider serving at PCSD, as additional resources are currently needed. Individuals interested in these important roles can apply to help create continuity and consistency for students, teachers, and staff.
“While we have great relationships with our current substitute teachers, paraeducators and bus drivers, it is reasonable to anticipate that we may have a greater need for more staffing as we reopen our schools in the aftermath of the January 4th tragedy,” said Clark Wicks, superintendent, Perry Community School District. “Having a deeper pool of substitutes and paraeducators available will provide extra support for teachers who will need breaks, as well as time for self-care and healthcare appointments. People have been asking ‘How can I help?’ and this is a tangible way to honorably serve our community by filling this need.”
